I say Kimbo

I’ve never seen Roy Nelson fight, and I know he’s a former IFL champion but I’m still pulling for Kimbo on this one.
Authentic Chicago hot dog @Chicago Mid Way

Pure beef hot dog (no pork, veal, filler) on a poppy seed bun. Hot peppers, neon green piccalilli, and a kosher dill pickle. Even the fries were good.
Note to self: Chicagoans never eat their hot dogs with ketchup.

@Phillips seafood downtown DC

Paella. Jumbalaya. Crab cakes. Steamed shrimp. Steamed crab. Steamed crab legs. Blackened tilapia. Phillips seafood in downtown DC has one of the best seafood buffets I’ve ever been to. And as a co-worker put it, the seafood is so much better the closer you get to water. Oh, and they brew their own beer.

R.I.P. Grandmaster Roc Raida of the X-Men (X-ecutioners). One of the greatest of all time.
Posted by DJ Balance | Filed under Uncategorized
Whoever is DJing nowadays has been influenced in one way or another by Roc Raida. He is one of the reasons why I started DJing. I still like to mess around with my Beats for Jugglers wax to emulate the body tricks he would do. I remember trying to use my shoulder for back tricks and one time I snapped my fader before a night I had to DJ. Gilbert knows what I’m talking about.
My favorite all time Roc Raida moment was the Push It (Salt-N-Pepa) juggle. First time I saw this, I was like “YYYYyyyyyooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!”
Even though Roc Raida won the 1995 World DMC’s, my favorite is still his 1994 routine. This was Roc Raida in his prime.

And of course, I was bumping X-Pressions a whole year before Wave Twisters came out. Raida’s Theme and Mad Flava are a couple of my favorite tracks from that album.

I always wondered what RNS stood for
Posted by DJ Balance | Filed under Uncategorized
Yeah, I’m not going to lie. In my downloading heyday, I had tons of ripped albums from these guys on my hard drive. You know it’s them because all their MP3s or albums had RNS in the ID3 tags. Anyways, four members of Rabid Neurosis were busted by the Feds yesterday for running one of the most infamous music piracy rings. If they are convicted each of them will have to do five years and pay a $250,000 fine. You know what? I’m pretty sure there last album was NOT Fall Out Boy in 2007. I’m pretty sure they ripped albums after that.
